Padma Vibhushan BKS Iyengar chats about yoga and his struggle for its survival

"I am proud to receive the honour (smiles). Although the people have accepted this art (yog), and thousands are practising it, the government has been hesitant in accepting it as one of the most noble arts, science and philosophies in our country. With this honour, I think the government is opening its eyes. I hope many more yoga sadhakas are given this honour. It’s not a business award, but an award for us to go deeper into the subject. I hope it serves as a stepping stone for the younger generation."
